La Plage

Monday, April 14th, 2008

La PlageIf you like to have lunch with great casual food in one of the most idyllic beach settings, you have to go to “ La Plage“. Everything is great, the planes taking off, the meal, the desserts, the mattress on the sand beach, and the girls.

Take one of your Sunday for that, you’ll never forget. Choose a “poisson du jour” and a bottle of cool white or rosé wine.

On St. Jean beach, close to the airport.

Cheeseburger in Paradise

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

le_select.jpgYou cannot miss the “Select“. It’s probably one of the most famous and oldest bar in St. Barts, and located in the most conspicuous position in the Gustavia Harbor. Just follow the main street and you’ll find it. Don’t be fool by the look of the place, the cheap price of the food and the rhum. This bar has received all the beautiful people of the island.

One of the choice of Jimmy Buffett’s Caribbean Bars, Clubs and Restaurants. His famous song “Cheeseburger in Paradise” was inspired by “Le Select”. This place is definitely a part of the legend of the island. You’ll find the yacht guests, the crew members, the islanders, the villa’s owners, all together in this wonderful and typical “St. Barts Ambiance”.

My choice for dinner is the grilled Mahi-Mahi in plastic dishes and a Ti’punch.

La Case de l’Isle

casedelisle.jpg For a gastronomic lunch or dinner, my favorite restaurant in St Barts is probably La Case de l’Isle, the restaurant of the hotel St Barth Isle de France.

La Case de l’Isle, situated on one of the most outstanding beach of St. Barts, Flamands beach, offers a wide variety of marvellous dishes including tropical fusion food, grilled fishes and salads.Try a club sandwich “Isle de France”, or a fillet of sea-bass coated with balsamic vinegar.

L’Entracte

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

kudeta.jpgFor lunch or dinner time at St. Barts on the Gustavia Harbor, one of the best cart for lunch. Every day you can try a different meal, everything is delicious.

L’entracte” (ex-Open Your Heart/Kudeta) you won’t find this in any of the guides for the island. This lovely restaurant is Gustavia’s hidden gem!

For an unexpectedly affordable dinner, get a tasty meal or a pizza with one of their enjoyable bottles of wine.

Le Piment

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

image-7.pngThis is my first dinner when I get out from the plane, if I am tired. One of my favorite restaurant in St Barts for a quick or casual dinner. Each time, when I have friends at the Villa Triagoz, I bring them here.

You should try the Tuna Tataki and the rosé-wine “Les Vignerons de St-Tropez, carte noire”.

For dessert one of the best I never eat, take a panacotta.
